FIL ROUGE (French for “red thread”) is a musical composition by Elwira Slazak (marimba, percussion) and Jagoda Stanicka https://jagodastanicka.com/pl/biografia/ (piano, electronics). It symbolizes a guiding thread, running through entirety. The piece uses four Tibetan bowls (c, f, g, b) as a central motif symbolizing life’s constant movement, change, and reflection. The artists blend minimalism and dynamic energy, creating a musical journey that invites listeners to explore their own experiences. Improvisation is central, echoing the unpredictability of life itself—an idea inspired by the poem “Life is Theater” by Wisława Szymborska.
